Excelsoft Launches ‘Saras Assessments in a Box’ for Offline Digital Exams

National — Excelsoft Technologies has launched “Saras Assessments in a Box,” a compact assessment appliance designed to enable secure digital examinations without reliance on extensive infrastructure or continuous internet connectivity.

Built on the company’s Saras Assessment platform, the device allows institutions to set up a functional test centre within minutes, according to Excelsoft. The appliance, described as being about the size of a matchbox, does not require servers or complex IT systems. Users can power it on, connect through Wi-Fi or LAN, and begin conducting exams. A single device can support more than 100 concurrent candidates.

Dhananjay Sudhanva, Chairman and Managing Director of Excelsoft Technologies, said the product is intended to address limitations of infrastructure-heavy examination models as assessment scale increases. He said the system enables institutions to conduct exams across varied environments, including entrance examinations, university assessments, recruitment tests, certification programs, and temporary or emergency test centres.

Adarsh Sudhindra, Chief Innovation Officer, said the solution is based on a distributed architecture that enables exams to run locally while remaining centrally governed. He said the design aims to ensure consistent delivery of high-stakes assessments in areas with limited connectivity.
