Yoon’s Spy Chief Faces Charges of Evidence Concealment

South Korean authorities have arrested former intelligence chief, Cho Tae-yong, on charges of concealing evidence. The Seoul Central District Court issued a warrant following a request from prosecutors, citing a risk of damage to evidence. Cho Tae-yong served as the head of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) until his impeachment in recent years. The arrest follows the failed martial law decree that Yoon previously initiated, intensifying political tensions. Prosecutors allege that Cho Tae-yong’s actions compromised critical information needed to counter the president’s policies. The investigation focuses on the potential misuse of intelligence resources.
