National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has initiated legal proceedings against Cue Learn Private Ltd, a digital education firm, following a dispute over a Rs 4.83 crores payment default incurred during an endorsement agreement with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. Kumar’s legal team initially sought recovery of the unpaid installment, which was initially received only as Rs 4.05 crores. Cue Learn asserts that unreceived invoices and scheduling issues prevented the final payment. The NCLT initially dismissed the case, stating it didn’t fall under the scope of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) regarding contractual disputes.
