Brightsun Travel held a cybersecurity awareness workshop ahead of International Cyber Security Day, bringing together more than 70 participants for a session focused on current online threats and prevention strategies. The event was part of the company’s effort to address the rise in digital fraud affecting consumers and travelers.
An industry expert led the session, outlining tactics used in common cyberattacks, including phishing, vishing, smishing, SIM card cloning, digital arrest scams, black hat SEO manipulation, RFID-based breaches and malicious APK or EXE files. The workshop also addressed the “Saadi Invitation” scam, which leverages personal events to target victims.
Attendees observed demonstrations such as a simulated phishing page, a walkthrough of a fake APK or EXE attack and social engineering examples illustrating how trust can be exploited online.
Sandeep Arora, Director of Brightsun Travel, said the company aims to help customers and the wider community better understand evolving cyber risks and protect their personal information. External trainer Dheeraj Vashista said the session focused on breaking down complex threats into practical guidance for everyday users.
