Archaeological surveys have revealed a significant portion of the dolmens located in Kodaikanal hill region are currently incomplete. Reverend A. Anglade S.J. and Reverend L. V. Newton S.J. have documented approximately 50% of the dolmens present. These structures, primarily found at Pethuparai and Thandikudi, are currently fenced by the Archaeological Survey of India. Several dolmens have been lost to dense vegetation, necessitating further investigation and conservation efforts. Authorities are focused on stabilizing the remaining structures to safeguard this important historical heritage. The objective is to ensure the long-term preservation of these ancient monuments.
