A video depicting an elderly woman in Jiangsu province, identified as Li, mourning her deceased duck after it was fatally struck by a vehicle accident, has gone viral. The incident occurred on November 4th. According to a neighbour, Chen, Li had owned the duck for four years, initially as a companion after her husband’s diagnosis of oesophageal and stomach cancers. The duck was reportedly a cherished pet, and the woman expressed significant distress over its loss. Chen stated the woman kept the duck as a beloved pet and expressed grief at the loss of her companion. The incident has been reported to local authorities.
