Last week, the Fujian People’s Liberation Army conducted the commissioning of a new aircraft carrier. Among the participating officers was Rear Admiral Ma Weiming, recognized as a key figure in the development of the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS). This groundbreaking system represents a significant technological advancement, positioning the Fujian navy as one of the most advanced in China. Ma Weiming’s work has fundamentally altered naval warfare, introducing novel capabilities and strategies. The EMALS system allows for quicker and more efficient launch of aircraft, contributing to a considerable advantage in naval operations.
