Hong Kong Buildings Sway in Super Typhoon

Super Typhoon Ragasa, impacting Hong Kong with intense winds and heavy rain, caused noticeable swaying in several high-rise buildings. Meteorological experts and Hong Kong authorities have stated that these movements are a common occurrence, a result of the building’s design incorporating wind-resistant construction. The typhoon, which originated approximately 100km south of the city, was downgraded to a severe typhoon before its direct impact. The buildings, constructed with robust structural elements, have demonstrated a capacity to withstand the significant wind forces, though some reported slight adjustments in their stability. The situation is currently monitored and deemed manageable.
