Hong Kong Endangered Stingray Alerted

A large stingray was captured by an angler in Victoria Harbour, raising concerns about its conservation status. The marine animal, commonly known as a “devil fish” in Chinese, was observed struggling near the waterfront in Shau Kei Wan. The footage revealed a distinctive flat, disc-shaped body and long tail, prompting investigation. Ocean Park stated the fish likely entered local waters unintentionally. Officials are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and assessing potential risks to the species.
