Hong Kong’s local authorities have proposed the preservation of two significant historical structures within the planned Northern Metropolis megaproject. The Yau Tam Mei Primary School, established in 1929, and the Wai Cheung Ancestral Hall, dating back 138 years, are included in the proposed environmental impact assessment. These sites hold historical and cultural value, representing a crucial part of the area’s heritage. The proposed preservation aims to offer educational opportunities and strengthen the area’s identity for future generations.
