Mumbai: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur celebrated its 16th Foundation Day on October 11, bringing together leaders from academia and industry to reflect on its growth and discuss the evolving needs of future business education.
The event featured guest speakers including Prof. Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIM Ahmedabad; Mr. Sambasivan G, Chief Financial Officer of Tata Play; and Mr. Rajeev Jain, Senior Vice President for Corporate Marketing at DS Group. The institute recognized faculty and staff with Certificates of Appreciation and honored PhD scholars for their academic achievements.
In his address, Prof. Sanjeev Prashar, Director-in-charge of IIM Raipur, highlighted the institute’s commitment to nurturing leaders capable of adapting to complexity and change. He noted the institute’s efforts to expand global partnerships, strengthen industry engagement, and enhance its impact through research and innovation.
Prof. Bhasker underscored the importance of balancing technological fluency with human-centric leadership. Mr. Sambasivan emphasized the value of multidisciplinary thinking in corporate decision-making, while Mr. Jain spoke about the growing role of storytelling and consumer focus in marketing.
Since its establishment, IIM Raipur has expanded its student base by 88 percent, with 343 students enrolled in 2025. The institute reported the highest placement package for the Class of 2025 at ₹43.4 lakh per annum, with an average of ₹19.7 lakh and a median of ₹18.5 lakh.
Recent initiatives include collaborations with SIDBI, the launch of STEM programs, and a specialized MBA in Public Policy. The institute is also advancing toward AACSB International accreditation and expanding academic offerings through new MBA and Executive MBA programs, entrepreneurship and research centers, and an incubation facility.
The event concluded with a panel discussion on “New-Age Skills: The Currency of the Future Workforce,” followed by a film chronicling the institute’s milestones and a closing vote of thanks.
