Injuries at Odinga Memorial Service Rock Kisumu

On Saturday, dozens of mourners were injured during a memorial service for Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga in the city of Kisumu, western Kenya. Crowds gathered to pay their respects following a significant increase in attendance. A Reuters witness reported seeing injured individuals being attended to at the scene, with some requiring immediate medical attention. Preliminary reports indicate that two individuals were deceased. More than 160 others were also treated for injuries sustained during the event. The Kenyan Red Cross official confirmed the number of injuries, stating that several individuals were hospitalized. The memorial service is focused on honoring Odinga’s legacy and commemorating his supporters.
