The Belfast-based legal firm representing Kneecap rapper, Liam O’Connell, has announced the case against him has been dismissed. Lawyer Darragh Mackin stated the proceedings were characterized as “political persecution masquerading as a prosecution.” The firm asserts the case was initiated based on perceived political motivations rather than genuine criminal activity. Mackin indicated the legal team believes the case lacked sufficient evidence to proceed. The court ultimately ruled against the prosecution, and the case is now closed.
