The Portfolio Committee on International Relations and Cooperation in South Africa has announced the release of six South African activists from the Global Sumud flotilla. This group, comprised of individuals involved in environmental activism, is expected to arrive in South Africa tomorrow. The activists were detained in Israel following allegations of disruptive behavior related to their activities. The release is a result of negotiations between the South African authorities and the Israeli government. They are now being transported to Jordan for their safe return home.
