China’s Expansion of Asean Trade Deal

China is planning an upgrade to its existing free-trade agreement with ASEAN this year, reflecting a strategic focus on diversifying export markets and strengthening economic relationships with its primary trading partner. Vice-Minister of Commerce Yan Dong announced that China will collaborate closely with ASEAN to finalize domestic approvals and formally sign the new Cafta 3.0 protocol by the year’s end. This initiative aims to enhance regional trade and bolster bilateral economic ties.
