American Oncology Institute launches Cancer Expert Opinion program

New Delhi — American Oncology Institute (AOI) announced the launch of its “Cancer Expert Opinion” initiative on the occasion of World Cancer Day, introducing a patient-focused program designed to help individuals and families make informed decisions before beginning cancer treatment.

According to the announcement, the initiative allows patients to have their medical reports reviewed by experienced oncologists across AOI’s nationwide network. Following the review, patients receive a personalized consultation intended to guide them on appropriate treatment pathways. The program aims to improve access to timely expert opinions regardless of a patient’s location.

AOI said the initiative aligns with this year’s World Cancer Day theme, “United by Unique,” highlighting the individualized nature of cancer care. The institute reported that it has more than 13 years of oncology experience and has treated over 12 lakh patients across its network.

The organization provides integrated cancer care services spanning medical, surgical, radiation, and hemato-oncology, supported by diagnostic and radiology services used for staging, treatment planning, and monitoring. Its radiation oncology services include centralized treatment planning and technology-supported approaches, according to the announcement.

The institute also reported that its care model involves more than 150 oncologists and multidisciplinary tumor boards, along with the use of AI-enabled radiation treatment planning.

In a statement, AOI leadership said the initiative is intended to provide patients and caregivers with access to expert guidance at an early stage of diagnosis, helping reduce barriers to timely treatment. The organization currently operates in 16 cities in India and one location in Sri Lanka and participates in various government healthcare schemes.
