China’s AI-Powered Dam Begins Water Storage

The Dashixia Water Control Project, a significant undertaking in Xinjiang’s Aksu prefecture, has commenced water storage operations. Constructed through a combination of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and digital twin modeling, the dam is the world’s tallest concrete-faced rockfill structure. Located in the Kumarak River’s middle and lower reaches, the project reaches a height of 247 meters (810 feet). The project’s design is spearheaded by China Energy Engineering Corporation, a state-owned entity, and aims to provide a substantial water reservoir for regional needs. The water storage will commence on Saturday and is a key component of China’s ongoing infrastructure development efforts.
