New Delhi— Cloudflare announced on Thursday that it has acquired Human Native, an AI-focused data marketplace designed to connect content creators with artificial intelligence developers.
According to the company, the acquisition is intended to improve how AI developers discover and access content for training and inference, while enabling creators and publishers to make their content available to AI companies through paid, transparent channels. Cloudflare said the addition of Human Native’s technology and team will support its efforts to develop tools that allow content to be indexed, priced, and monetized for AI use.
The company stated that growing demand for high-quality data has created challenges for content owners, who must decide whether to restrict AI access to their material, tailor it for AI use, or offer it for purchase. Cloudflare said it aims to provide tools that support all three approaches. Human Native’s platform will be used to help prepare content so that AI developers can identify and acquire reliable data through structured marketplaces.
Matthew Prince, co-founder and chief executive officer of Cloudflare, said the acquisition aligns with the company’s goal of creating a sustainable economic model for the internet that gives creators control over how their content is used. He added that the tools under development are intended to support transparency and long-term viability for online publishing.
Human Native was founded in 2024 and is backed by venture capital firms LocalGlobe and Mercuri. The company’s team includes professionals with experience in technology and media organizations such as DeepMind, Google, Figma, and Bloomberg. Cloudflare said this expertise will contribute to building tools that allow creators to structure and distribute content for AI use under defined commercial terms.
