Mumbai — Retail chain SMART Bazaar has launched a nationwide exchange program running from Feb. 13 to March 29, allowing customers to trade certain household items for store coupons.
Under the “SMART Bazaar Exchange” initiative, customers can bring old newspapers, used clothes and old utensils to participating stores and receive ₹100 per kilogram in exchange value, issued as store coupons. The coupons can be redeemed across categories including groceries, home essentials and apparel.
The company said the program will be available at more than 980 stores across over 500 cities.
Damodar Mall, CEO of SMART Bazaar, said the initiative is designed to provide customers with a way to convert unused items into savings that can be applied toward household purchases.
The retailer described the exchange as part of its broader focus on offering value across everyday shopping categories. According to the company, the program is intended to give customers flexibility in using the issued coupons across their monthly purchases.
The exchange offer will be available nationwide during the promotional period, the company said.
