Traffic suspended on Jammu-Srinagar national highway amid incessant rains

Traffic on Jammu-Srinagar national highway was suspended again on Tuesday (September 2, 2025) as torrential rain led to mudslides and boulders sliding off slopes at several places on the 250-k.m. road linking the Valley to the rest of the country . Meteorological department forecasted moderate to heavy rainfall in most parts of Jammu division on September 2 and 3 . Kathua district recorded the highest 24.2 mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours ending 8.30 am. on Tuesday .
