OM SYSTEM Brings Olympus Legacy to India with Launch of Camera and Lens for Outdoor Creators

OM-5 Mark II

New Delhi: Global imaging company OM SYSTEM, which carries forward the 85-year legacy of Olympus, on Thursday announced the launch of two new products in India — the OM-5 Mark II camera and the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 50-200mm F2.8 IS PRO lens.

The launch, timed with India’s festive season, signals the company’s renewed focus on the country’s fast-growing photography market, particularly among outdoor and travel enthusiasts.

The OM-5 Mark II is the latest iteration of the company’s compact interchangeable lens cameras. Lightweight and built with splash, dust and freezeproof protection (IPX53, down to -10°C), the model has been designed with outdoor photographers in mind. Among its key upgrades are a redesigned grip, improved 5-axis image stabilisation, and performance refinements drawn from feedback provided by professional creators.

The new M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 50-200mm F2.8 IS PRO is a super telephoto zoom lens covering a 100-400mm (35mm equivalent) focal range with a constant F2.8 aperture. Built for wildlife, birding, and sports photography, it offers up to seven stops of image stabilisation when paired with compatible bodies. The lens, compatible with the Micro Four Thirds system, has been designed to deliver high resolution across the zoom range while maintaining handheld usability.

Speaking at the India launch, Shigemi Sugimoto, CEO of OM Digital Solutions Corporation, said the company sees India as a “strategic priority” in its global roadmap. “Our vision for India is to build a strong and enduring ecosystem — one that empowers photographers with cutting-edge technology and nurtures creativity,” he said.

Vivek Handoo, Vice President – Head of APAC and Managing Director at OM SYSTEM, added that the two products mark a defining moment for the brand in India. “We believe these launches will not only strengthen our market position but also catalyze a new wave of creativity and adoption among Indian photographers,” he said.

OM SYSTEM also announced its annual Asia-Pacific photography competition, open to consumers from October to January, with winners declared in March.

The OM-5 Mark II, priced at ₹1,39,990 with a 14-150mm kit lens, is available immediately with a festive bundle including complimentary binoculars. The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 50-200mm F2.8 IS PRO lens will be available from October 1 at ₹3,29,990 on an order basis.
