Mumbai: Kantar has announced the launch of a dedicated Public and Developmental Sector Practice in India to support governments, financial institutions and non-profits in designing evidence-based policies and programs.
The company said the new practice will provide research and insights across sectors including agriculture, rural livelihoods, financial inclusion, health, education, governance, gender, poverty reduction, environment and innovation ecosystems. It aims to help institutions create policies that are informed by data from communities across the country.
Kantar currently operates 17 research offices in India, with a presence in more than 600 towns and 2,000 villages. According to the company, its network of 3,500 trained interviewers conducts about 5.6 million interviews annually, enabling coverage from metropolitan areas to rural communities.
The practice will also draw on technologies such as AI-powered policy simulations, GIS and spatial analytics, and real-time dashboards to assist decision-makers in turning evidence into actionable strategies.
“Public and government institutions also need high quality data to deliver evidence-based policies and programs that improve lives,” said Deepender Rana, Executive Managing Director for South Asia in Kantar’s Insights Division. “Kantar’s Public and Developmental Sector practice will do that by capitalising on our extensive data collection resources across India combined with advanced analytics.”
Puneet Avasthi, Director of Specialist Businesses in Kantar’s Insights Division, added, “India’s development story is diverse and complex, and each sector brings its own unique challenges. With our expertise across agriculture, health, education, financial inclusion, governance, gender and sustainability, we are uniquely positioned to support programs that drive inclusive growth.”
