Gurugram Comic Con draws over 22,000 attendees in debut edition

Gurugram— The inaugural Gurugram Comic Con concluded on Sunday, drawing more than 22,000 attendees over two days at the Gym Khana Club Ground, according to organisers.

The event, held from March 14, brought together comic readers, anime fans, gamers, and creators through activities including artist alleys, gaming zones, live performances, and panel discussions. Attendees participated in creator sessions, explored graphic novel displays, and engaged with interactive installations.

The creators’ stage featured discussions with artists such as comic illustrator Raymund Bermudez, alongside Indian creators who spoke about storytelling and visual design. Sessions also included conversations with the team behind the animated project Mahavatar Narasimha, focusing on animation and mythology.

Live entertainment included music performances and comedy acts by artists such as Ikka, Dharmik (Madhusubdhan Sharma), Gini, Jaspreet Singh, and Onkar Yadav.

Cosplay was a central attraction, with more than 250 participants portraying characters from anime, films, and video games. The Gurugram Comic Con Cosplay Contest awarded daily prizes, while the Indian Championship of Cosplay – Gurugram Qualifier saw Vandana Sharma win the title and ₹50,000, securing a place in the ICC Finals 2026.

The NODWIN Gaming Arena hosted competitive gaming activities, while branded experience zones by event partners attracted attendees.

Organisers said the turnout reflects growing interest in pop culture in Gurugram, marking the event’s addition to the city’s cultural calendar.
