Mumbai— IIHMR University held a five-day Management Development Programme on “Health Systems Strengthening” for officials from the Government of Gujarat, focusing on leadership development, data-driven decision-making, digital health capabilities, and strategic management.
The programme included 30 participants representing medical officers, professors, administrators, and policy planners from institutions such as GMERS Medical Colleges, district hospitals, the State Health Systems Resource Centre, and National Health Mission units.
IIHMR University President Dr. P.R. Sodani said the initiative aimed to build leadership, data intelligence, and digital readiness among health administrators. He noted that these components are essential for translating data into action, improving service delivery, and supporting resilient health systems.
Across the five days, attendees took part in sessions on decision-making, health indicators, programme monitoring, data-to-action methods, visualization techniques, strategic planning, management exercises, digital health innovations, applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare, and predictive analysis using generative AI.
Faculty members leading the sessions included Dr. Sodani, Dr. Vinod Kumar SV, Dr. Arindam Das, Dr. Goutam Sadhu, Dr. Purnendu Shekhar Pandey, Dr. Praveen Srivatsa, and Dr. Venkat Changavalli. The programme aimed to enhance the administrative and analytical capacities of Gujarat’s public health workforce.
