IREDA Highlights MSME Role at Stakeholders’ Meet

Mumbai : Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) held its 22nd Stakeholders’ Interaction Meet at the India International Centre in New Delhi, chaired by Chairman and Managing Director Pradip Kumar Das. Around 100 borrowers and business partners from across the renewable energy value chain attended the event.

The meeting opened with a presentation outlining IREDA’s recent achievements, financial performance, key initiatives, and an action taken report on issues raised during the previous interaction. Participants discussed sectoral challenges, policy updates, and financing norms with the management.

Addressing stakeholders, Das emphasized the importance of maintaining asset quality and corporate governance standards to ensure the organization’s long-term sustainability. Responding to questions on interest rates, he said IREDA seeks to mobilize funds at the lowest possible cost and pass on the benefits to developers, in alignment with Reserve Bank of India and other regulatory guidelines. He said the approach is intended to support growth in the renewable energy sector in line with the Government of India’s vision.

Das also highlighted the role of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), describing them as central to achieving the Viksit Bharat vision by 2047. He said MSMEs must maintain strong corporate governance to access lower-cost financing.

IREDA also reported strengthening its workforce across entry, middle and senior management levels. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Director (Finance) Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty.
