Mumbai/Bihar : JK Cement Ltd. inaugurated its grey cement grinding unit in Buxar, Bihar, on Monday in a ceremony attended by senior state leaders.
The facility was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Samrat Choudhary, under the guidance of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Industries and Road Construction Minister Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal and JK Cement Vice Chairman Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal were present at the event, along with Dr. Nidhipati Singhania, Vice Chairman of JK Cement.
Located on the Patna–Buxar highway, the 100-acre plant has a production capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The company said the unit is intended to improve cement availability across Bihar and neighbouring regions and support infrastructure, housing and commercial projects.
Deputy Chief Minister Choudhary said industrial investments such as the Buxar plant would contribute to employment generation and infrastructure development in the state.
JK Cement Managing Director Dr. Raghavpat Singhania said the facility reflects the company’s long-term commitment to Bihar’s development. Madhavkrishna Singhania, Joint Managing Director and CEO, said local manufacturing would enable faster deliveries and improved service responsiveness in the region.
The project was developed with an investment of approximately ₹500 crore, with construction beginning in March 2025. The company had previously supplied cement to Bihar from its Prayagraj facility. With the commissioning of the Buxar plant, JK Cement will now serve the state through local production.
