NICMAR’s Bharat Nav-Nirmaan Challenge Concludes Hyderabad Round

Hyderabad : The Hyderabad City Round of the Bharat Nav-Nirmaan Challenge, a nationwide student innovation initiative by NICMAR, concluded with undergraduate engineering and architecture students presenting solutions to infrastructure challenges.

More than 20 teams from institutions across the state participated in the city-level finale, showcasing projects focused on India’s built environment and infrastructure sector. The competition is part of a multi-stage national platform aimed at engaging young technical talent in the Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Project (CRIP) sectors.

Entries were evaluated by a jury comprising Dr. Binaya Patnaik, CoE at NICMAR University of Construction Studies, Hyderabad; Anjani S. Mandapaka, Director – Project Management at Arquitectonia Home Solutions Pvt. Ltd; and architect Nishanth, Principal Architect at Morphemy. Projects were assessed on innovation, feasibility, scalability and relevance to current infrastructure needs. The jury noted the application of technical fundamentals and practical implementation approaches in the submissions.

Dr. Tapash Kumar Ganguli, Director-General of NICMAR, said the participating students demonstrated strong engineering aptitude and presented ideas aligned with real-world infrastructure problem statements.

The winners of the Hyderabad round were Maturi Venkata Subba Rao (MVSR) Engineering College (first place), Vignan Institute of Technology and Science (second place), and Sree Chaitanya College of Engineering (third place). The winning teams will advance to the regional round.

Supported by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Bharat Nav-Nirmaan Challenge offers prizes worth Rs 30 lakh and focuses on encouraging undergraduate students to address real-world infrastructure challenges.
