NODWIN Gaming has appointed Sonal Varma as Global Director – Live Events as the company expands its international portfolio of gaming, esports and pop culture experiences.
Varma, who has more than 15 years of experience in live events and fan community platforms, will oversee strategy, design and execution across NODWIN Gaming’s global live event initiatives. Her role will focus on developing new formats, expanding events into emerging markets and strengthening community engagement around the company’s gaming and entertainment properties.
Before joining NODWIN Gaming, Varma served as vice president at Comic Con India, where she helped expand the event into a multi-city platform and developed partnerships with international studios and consumer brands. Her work included overseeing event strategy, sponsorships, international programming and fan engagement initiatives.
NODWIN Gaming’s event portfolio includes properties such as DreamHack India, NH7 Weekender, Comic Con India and the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGMS), along with esports tournaments and gaming festivals across regions including Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Akshat Rathee, co-founder and managing director of NODWIN Gaming, said Varma’s experience in building community-focused events will support the company’s efforts to expand its global live events business.
Varma said the role presents opportunities to explore new markets and formats while building experiences centered on gaming communities.
