Prime Video’s Gaurav Gandhi Recognized for Industry Leadership at CII Summit

MUMBAI — Gaurav Gandhi, vice president for the Asia Pacific region at Prime Video, was honored as a “Visionary Shaping India’s Media & Entertainment Future” at the 2025 CII Big Picture Summit. The recognition was presented during the summit’s valedictory session by Rajan Navani, co-chair of the CII National Council on Media & Entertainment and managing director and CEO of JetSynthesys.

According to the announcement at the event, Gandhi was recognized for his role in expanding streaming access across the Asia Pacific region, developing content strategies, and contributing to India’s position in the global media landscape.

In a conversation moderated by Navani, Gandhi reflected on the experiences that have shaped his approach to long-term strategy. “Every experience you go through, successful or not, shapes what you are going to do in the future,” he said, noting that imagination played a key role as streaming emerged in its early stages in India.

Gandhi emphasized the importance of stories resonating with local audiences before reaching global viewers. He noted that more than 25% of viewership for Indian content on Prime Video now comes from outside the country, underscoring the appeal of locally rooted storytelling.

He also discussed the role of intention and execution in building a varied content ecosystem, pointing to casting decisions and cross-industry collaborations as examples of choices that help stories reach broader audiences.

Addressing leadership, Gandhi highlighted curiosity as a core attribute and spoke about fostering strong teams by empowering colleagues. He added that learning from individuals across all levels of an organization has been central to his growth.
