Punjab Introduces Mixed Reality Experience for 350th Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

New Delhi — The Government of Punjab has launched a 360-degree Mixed Reality experience to mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, offering visitors an immersive way to reflect on the life and teachings of the Ninth Sikh Guru.

According to the announcement, the initiative combines digital technology with traditional commemoration practices. From November 23 to 25, attendees can access an interactive experience by scanning QR codes displayed on standees at the event venue. A scan on any smartphone leads users into a Mixed Reality environment designed to depict key episodes from Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s life.

The project has been developed with support from Flam, whose technology underpins the MR component. The central feature of the experience, titled The Eternal Flame of Sacrifice, presents 11 moments from Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s journey. These include his coronation, his defense of religious freedom, his martyrdom at Chandni Chowk, and the secret cremation at Rakab Ganj Sahib. The narrative is conveyed through visual and audio elements that draw on references from the Sri Guru Granth Sahib and documented historical accounts.

Organizers describe the initiative as an effort to connect contemporary audiences with Sikh heritage through an accessible format. The experience aims to provide a reflective environment for devotees, scholars, and visitors by combining historical content with emerging technology.

By incorporating Mixed Reality into the observance, the Punjab Government seeks to introduce a new approach to marking the occasion while maintaining the solemnity of the tribute.
