Mumbai : Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced an association with the European Union (EU) for the finale of MasterChef India, describing it as a first-time collaboration for Indian television.
According to SPNI, the partnership will feature a “European Union Mystery Box Challenge” during the show’s finale week. The challenge will be introduced by Chef Ajay and Chef Guntas, identified as Chef Ambassadors to the European Union. The top six contestant pairs will receive a curated mystery box containing ingredients with Geographical Indications (GIs) sourced from various regions across the EU.
Contestants will be required to use a limited number of ingredients from each category to prepare a dish that combines European ingredients with Indian flavours. The task is designed to test culinary skills, precision and innovation.
Akshay Agrawal, Head of Linear Ad Sales at SPNI, said the collaboration reflects the show’s ability to engage international institutions and build integrated partnerships. Chef Ajay Chopra, described as a Food Ambassador in the European Union, said the association provides an opportunity to highlight products from across the EU and engage with Indian audiences.
MasterChef India has previously featured international cuisines and ingredients. SPNI said the new association is intended to further expand the show’s exposure to global culinary influences during its finale week.
