Tehri Lake Festival 2026 to Be Held March 6–9

Tehri, Uttarakhand, India — The Himalayan O₂ – Tehri Lake Festival 2026 will take place from 6 to 9 March at Tehri Lake and other locations across Tehri district, organisers announced.

The four-day event is being organised by the district administration of Tehri Garhwal in collaboration with the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB). It is part of the state’s winter tourism initiative, Gham Tapo Tourism, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to the organisers, the festival will feature activities spanning adventure sports, art, photography, fashion, culture, music, cooking and local heritage. Performances by Pandavaas and Amit Trivedi are scheduled as part of the music lineup.

District Magistrate Nitika Khandelwal (IAS) said the festival will extend beyond Tehri Lake this year, with events planned at major tourist destinations across the district. She added that more than 100 hotels in the district have partnered with organisers to provide accommodation and logistical support during the festival.

The programme includes eight trekking routes where local youth will be trained as guides. Competitions and events will include a photography contest, Master Chef Tehri culinary competition, painting contest at Bauradi Stadium, river rafting in the Tehri area at Muni Ki Reti, fashion shows, rap and music battles, and adventure sports such as paragliding and mountain biking.

Cultural and awareness programmes, including initiatives themed around “Save Ganga,” heritage showcases and Ganga Aarti, are also planned.

Organisers said top performers across competitions will receive cash awards totalling ₹25 lakh, along with guided tours of Tehri Dam and commemorative certificates.
