Women Account for 60% of Digital Astrology Users in India: Study

Women make up more than 60% of digital astrology users in India, according to a user behaviour analysis conducted by lineage technology platform iMeUsWe.

The study found that women account for 60.3% of the platform’s total astrology user base. Among female users, 63% are between the ages of 18 and 30, with those aged 25 to 30 representing the largest segment at 41%.

According to the analysis, younger users are increasingly turning to digital astrology platforms while navigating life decisions such as relationships, careers and marriage.

“Young women today are engaging with traditional knowledge systems in more thoughtful ways,” said Vivek Desai, co-founder and chairman of iMeUsWe. He said astrology is increasingly being used as a tool for reflection during key life decisions.

Relationship-related concerns account for the majority of consultations among women on the platform. The study found that 42% of consultations focus on marriage timing and compatibility, while 28% relate to love and relationship issues. Career and job stability account for 14% of consultations, followed by children and pregnancy at 7%, family or in-law conflicts at 5%, and finance and property matters at 4%.

Regionally, North India recorded the highest share of consultations at 35.5%, followed by West and Central India at 30.1%. Eastern India accounted for 17.7% of consultations, while South India contributed 13.9%.

The study indicates that digital platforms are increasingly shaping how users engage with traditional practices such as astrology, particularly among younger demographics.
